After a night of monsoon rains in July 2015, the clouds dissipate allowing the sun's morning brilliance as it rises over the Sandia Mountains east of the Rio Grande and the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. The image was captured west of the river at a place called Riverview. The dim light touches the the cottonwood forest know to Albuquerqueans as the "bosque" that straddles the Rio Grande. The lights of Albuquerque can be seen in the distance.

Richard Estrada operates a small media company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, that produces online content. He began his interest in the arts when his family moved to Italy. He attended Vicenza American High School, Vicenza, Italy. At the high school a friend let Richard borrow a camera and showed him how to process the film. Richard was hooked on photography. At the University of New Mexico he studied fine art and continued to work with photography. Then he began working in motion pictures with a job in an Albuquerque animation studio and with an animator out of Santa Fé.
